Managing Director
Stuart Rees
Founding director, commercial litigator, and the firm's managing partner — known for finding the commercial resolution long before the courtroom door.
Stuart founded Broadley Rees Hogan with Jon Broadley in 1996 and has led the firm as Managing Director ever since. He is a director in the firm's Commercial Dispute Resolution Services team and its Estates and Estate Planning Services team.
A senior commercial litigator with extensive experience in court and in alternative dispute resolution, Stuart is a firm believer in the benefits of an early commercial resolution where one is available. Clients come to him for the judgement call as much as the advocacy: whether a matter should be run, settled, or restructured around.
Litigation is a tool, not an outcome. The question is always what the client actually needs at the end of it.

Stuart's practice spans commercial litigation and dispute resolution, business sales and acquisitions, property law and employment law. Recent matters include:

- Contested deceased estates and estate disputes.
- Business acquisitions across real estate agencies, IT firms, electrical services, caravan parks and personal service industries.
