The firm was established by Jon Broadley and Stuart Rees in 1996 and has grown in reputation and size. Based in Brisbane, we service local, national and international clients through highly skilled professionals committed to industry-leading legal solutions.
We have built our success on a reputation for personalised legal services tailored to individual needs, in order to foster long-standing client relationships. That is underpinned by broad industry experience, specialist knowledge, and a focus on efficient, flexible and cost-effective service.

How long has Broadley Rees Hogan been operating?
The firm was established in Brisbane in 1996 by Jon Broadley and Stuart Rees, and has grown steadily in reputation and size since. Both founders are still directors of the firm.
Is BRH part of a larger group?
No. BRH is an independent Australian firm. That independence is deliberate — it keeps decisions quick, scopes clear, and the client relationship with the lawyer rather than with an account structure.
Has the firm been independently recognised?
BRH and its lawyers were listed in Doyle's Guide for leading firms and lawyers between 2015 and 2020, and our directors have been recognised in Best Lawyers® Australia for Commercial Law, Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
What is the Alliott Global Alliance, and how does it help me?
It is an international alliance of independent law and accounting firms. Membership means that when a matter crosses borders — an inbound investment, an offshore seller, tax advice in another jurisdiction — we can bring in a vetted local firm rather than leaving you to find one.
What does “liability limited by a scheme approved under professional standards legislation” mean?
It is a statutory scheme that caps the liability of participating professionals at a set amount, in exchange for meeting risk-management, insurance and complaints standards set by the Professional Standards Councils. Every Queensland law firm participating in the scheme is required to publish the notice.
Do you act for individuals as well as businesses?
Yes. Alongside the commercial practice we act for individuals on estate planning and wills, deceased estate and trust disputes, personal injury claims, insurance disputes and residential conveyancing.
Is there a minimum size of matter you will take on?
There is no fixed threshold. What matters more is whether the work suits the firm — where we can add genuine value and the cost of getting us involved is proportionate to what is at stake. If a matter is better handled elsewhere, we will say so and, where we can, point you in the right direction.
